As someone who spent the first part of her career as an illustrator, paying the rent with the pictures she made, and the second part of her career representing professional artists, no-one knows better than Lilla how awesome, but also at times how difficult, a professional art career can be.

In today’s short video Lilla shares why she loves this career choice, what is tough about it, and how to keep the motivation up for the longterm.

  1. Always so helpful and affirming, Lilla! Listening to your advice and guidance continually touches my heart and reminds me why I love being an illustrator! Blessings to you!

  2. You’ve touched on all the key points in a short time very beautifully. Thank you Lilla :) I especially love the flexibility that working for yourself entails. I took a walk to my local book shop for ‘market research’ today just for the heck of it. Could never have done that in my old cubicle life!

  3. Lilla you always inspire me in ways I can’t even express! Your videos are like beacons of light that tell me what I’m doing is OK and reinforce my belief that it’s ok to want to live life on your own terms! So thank you! Lots of love!
