A perching Robin enjoying serenity, peace and joy of the festive season.

I have taken MATS A & B and the classes helped me to discover the types of art that the market is looking for and to narrow my focus in creating artwork in the markets that I am interested in. In 2017, I would like to continue to enhance my art skills and to market my beautiful designs to reach more clients

My product is a holiday card (5″x7″) and my goal is to celebrate the Asian American story to all of my works.

I’ve taken MATS Bootcamp 2016, and MATS A&B Sef-paced. The MATS classes have really helped me to focus my vision into real-world applications and actual portfolio pieces. I feel that the community has given me a tremendous amount of feedback, support and they have elevated my level of output.

I have taken Bootcamp for the first time in 2016, and am currently enrolled in MATS B.

Bootcamp was great! I had not taken a MATS class before and the level of support in combination with the inspirational assignments were the perfect fit for upping my portfolio. I especially liked the 1920’s ladies assignment. It led to positive feedback from an Art Director!

The MATS classes helped me grow and develop my work & style and to gain confidence. I learnt new techniques and overall have grown in leaps and bounds. I’ve since opened my own shop and make sales daily. The added bonus of the course is meeting and staying in contact with other likeminded inspirational artists who have so much helpful advice to offer. I plan on taking more MATS courses in 2017 and hope to grow even more.

Christmas card designs for 2016

I took my first MATS courses in 2016. I enjoyed MATS Bootcamp very much and learned about different markets that my style could adapt easily. I created new pieces for my portfolio that were different from anything else I had done before.

When the Illustrating Children’s Books course was announced, I signed up immediately. I loved the class, met wonderful, creative people and learned some amazing new things about picture books and publishing world. This intensive course was definitely the most mind-blowing creative experience in 2016.

In 2017 I will continue my illustrator’s career, but with many new creative skills and business insight in my pocket.
