Meet Lilla

Many people already know me as an art and art/literary agent and former illustrator, but I’ve spent almost four decades in the creative industry as a highly successful creative entrepreneur whose roles have included author, speaker, ecourse co-founder, and more.

I spent the 1980s working in NYC as a full-time, highly successful illustrator, with clients including the New York Times Magazine, Vogue magazine, the Grammies, the program for Philip Glass’s new opera at Brooklyn Academy of Music, and many more.

I then went on to found Lilla Rogers Studio, a visionary art agency that represents over three dozen artists from around the world and has sold art for products worth over $300 million. We have licensed artwork on a huge variety of products, including best-selling children’s books, home décor, major ad campaigns, magazines, wall décor, and greetings cards, and our client list includes Crate & Barrel, Chronicle, the New York Times, Blue Q, Godiva, Barneys New York, Warner Brothers, IKEA, Target, Paperchase, Anthropologie, and hundreds more.

I am a trusted mentor to internationally renowned artists, have lectured at venues such as ICON: the Illustration Conference, Printsource NY, the Creative Connection Event, art colleges and corporations, and am frequently interviewed for my expertise as an agent, trendsetter, and artist. 

I have written a best-selling book, I Just Like to Make Things, and currently write a column for Uppercase magazine.

I have also done psychic readings for hundreds of people over several decades.

In 1985, I studied tarot and astrology for a year with psychic Jean Neimiller in New York, who saw something in me, and had me do readings for some of her clients. She then encouraged me to audition for the monthly psychic fair at the Doral Hotel, Lexington Ave, NYC, which I did, and became a regular reader. I then worked as a professional psychic in New York through the 1980s while getting my illustration career off the ground.

1991, I taught a Psychic Buffet class in Brooklyn, which consisted of astrology, palmistry, crystals, tarot, past lives. 

I’ve been completely obsessed with doing live Zoom readings for students in my Make Art That Sells courses, using my own creative career deck, and this has become a huge fan favorite.

Q. I’ve never taken an online class before. How does it work? Do I need to be at my computer at a certain time?

A: You’ll love it! The beauty of an online course is that you don’t need to be online at a specific time and it doesn’t matter what time zone you are in: you can check in whenever you like and the content is available 24/7. You can log on every day if you choose, or set aside some time once or twice a week to work through it.

The course takes place in an easy to navigate, gorgeous password-protected private classroom right here on this site. Just log in to your account and you’ll see all the courses you’re currently enrolled in.

You’ll also have access to the private Facebook group for this course where you can connect with others and share images of your work.

The fabulous written content for the class, is fully downloadable. The Facebook group will remain open indefinitely.

Q. What format is the class taught in?

A: The class is taught using video, written posts and curated imagery. Everything is made available in a bespoke, password-protected private classroom.

Q: Does this class contain live reviews?

Q: Do I need to have a drawing tablet or be able to create digital illustrations for this course? 

A: You don’t need any special software or equipment for this course.

A: Yes, you can access Make Art That Sells courses from any device once registered, but we strongly recommend viewing our courses on a desktop or laptop for the best user experience. We pack lots of information and visuals into our courses and they are best viewed on larger screens.

Q. Will I be able to communicate with others in the class?

Q. I don’t live in the USA. Is this course relevant for me?

A: Lilla Rogers represents artists internationally. Although the main buyers for art in the markets covered are in the US, much of the content is relevant for you wherever in the world you are, especially if you are interested in selling your work internationally. And because everything is made available to you online, it does not matter what time zone you are in.

Q. How is this course different to a college course?

A: For a start, it’s way cheaper than college!

As an online course you can attend from the comfort of your own home or studio, anywhere in the world – even in your pjs! – and the private classroom is open 24/7 so you can make it work around your life.

Delivery Policy

All our courses are delivered online in a private password-protected classroom. We do not deliver physical products in the post, but rather send you an email with the URL of the classroom and the password you need to log in. This email is sent to the email address you used to register for the class. Our online communities are offered via individual Facebook groups, to which you can request access, which will be granted once your enrolment has been confirmed. You can access the private classroom for your course via the Account section of this website, on or after the advertised start date of the course. For self-paced classes, you can access the private classroom via the Account section of this website, as soon as your purchase is complete.
