Learn how to get paid for illustrating children’s books!

Our hugely popular online course, Illustrating Children’s Books, starts May 20th

Your favorite clients: Part 2

Our students get fabulous jobs, and we wanted to show you some more of them. We already shared one batch a couple of weeks ago, and today we’re sharing even more real-life stories from artists just like you.

Bron Alexander

Make Art That Sells student Bron landed a great job creating packaging for one of New Zealand’s most well-known household brands.

Bron’s packaging as part of the Pams’ Emerging Artists range. Bron said: “It’s incredible to think that people are maybe going to have a little piece of my art in their home.”

Bron told us: “I was knocked off my seat when one of New Zealand’s oldest and well-known household brands, Pams, selected me as one of three emerging artists to create artwork for their tissue boxes. As part of the promotion, Pams commissioned a video interview of each artist to go alongside a nationwide social media campaign, and as a bonus, each artist has their name and bio is printed on tissue boxes.”

Bron added: “I can’t tell you how much pride and joy this opportunity gave me. I have taken Lilla’s Art Recipes: Drawing Faces, and this gave me even more confidence to continue pursuing my illustration and surface pattern career.” Take Lilla’s Art Recipes: Drawing Faces here.

Tracy Dawn Brewer

Tracy is yet another Make Art That Sells student who has had her art licensed for puzzles – what a great market for artists – and, incidentally, one that Lilla included in an assignment for Assignment Bootcamp a couple of years ago!

Tracy Brewer Jiggy Puzzle

Tracy’s gingerbread house illustration, and the puzzle licensed by Jiggy Puzzles.

Tracy told us: “My best client has been my first national license with Jiggy Puzzles for their Junior puzzle line! They chose a gingerbread house design that I created, and I know my work has evolved from my first entries for the MATS Global Talent Search entries almost 10 years ago!”

Tracy added: “I’ve enjoyed all of my Make Art That Sells classes, from the Assignment Bootcamps to Redrawing Black History. The MATS MBA (Money BadAss) changed the trajectory of my creative career. I’ve also invested in Creating Collections for Home Décor, Illustrating Children’s Books and Bootcamp Special: Character Play for the first time this year! I will never stop learning and evolving, and appreciate the opportunities shared about these industries in our community.”
