Plant parents assemble! Lilla’s favorite art from our Quarterly Art Challenge!

Our fourth FREE quarterly Art Challenge took place in June, and, as always, we loved seeing the amazing art that you created! Today we’re sharing Lilla’s favorite art from the challenge, and letting you know how you can take part in the next FREE challenge next month. The assignment was to draw a house plant (or two). Like florals, plants are a perennial (no pun intended) favorite for journals, notecards, bags, bolt fabric, wall art, editorial illustration, book illustration and more, so are a fantastic addition to any portfolio. The assignment was to create art for IPA packaging in just one week. Why this assignment? Craft beer packaging design is a huge market for your art, and one that you may not have thought about. It can also lead to spin off sales in things like prints, t-shirts, stickers, skateboards, and other merch. Deadlines and challenges are a creative’s best friend – they’re a great way to motivate yourself and get on with making fantastic art without having to think too much about what you’re going to create.
