drum roll please … Exciting news about our new My Toy Pitch course!

Today we’re thrilled to share some exciting news about Lilla’s My Toy Pitch course: Zoë Tucker, Make Art That Sells co-teacher, brilliant children’s book art director and picture book author, will be joining Lilla and Riley for one of the live reviews in the toy course!

What does this mean for My Toy Pitch students?

  • Firstly, it means that they’ll get their art directly in front of not just two art agents and a creative director, but an art director as well. Both Lilla and Zoë frequently scoop up artists from Make Art That Sells classes, so this is an incredible opportunity to get your art seen and perhaps land illustration gigs or representation.
  • Secondly, as a renowned children’s book art director and author, Zoë will be able to give students some fantastic insight on how the characters they create for My Toy Pitch could also be used to pitch for illustrating children’s books or writing their own story. This is gold!

What’s My Toy Pitch all about? Riley says: “As a toy and game inventor and agent, I’ve learned that unique toy concepts are created by unique people. That person is you! In this course, Lilla and I will teach you about the toy industry and how to think like an inventor. You’ll learn how to come up with unique ideas and unexpected concepts. You’ll hear from industry experts. You’ll learn about toy categories, what sells, and what doesn’t. My Toy Pitch is the course I wish existed when I began my career. We’ve got so much to share with you!”

The Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel Game, created by My Toy Pitch teacher Riley and illustrated by Lucia Gaggiotti. This smash hit preschool game has sold more than two million units and has nearly 10,000 five star reviews on Amazon.

Lilla says: “Ever since we introduced Riley to the artists I represent, they’ve been flooding him with ideas and concepts – and this is a great example of what an artist who takes this course will do: they’ll learn how to develop unique products, toys, and games using their brilliant art and their own wonderful creative brains. I can’t wait to see what’s going to come out of this course!”
