Today we’re going to show you some gorgeous boards made for Creating Collections for Home Décor by Katie Vernon, a former Make Art That Sells student who is now represented by Lilla Rogers, alongside the fabulous jobs she got from them!
Vintage Cottage
Katie created this board during the final phase of Lilla’s Global Talent Search in 2015, which she went on to win, thus snagging representation with Lilla Rogers Studio! The Global Talent Search isn’t scheduled for the foreseeable future, but taking Make Art That Sells courses are a fantastic opportunity to get your art directly in front of art agent Lilla – she’s always looking for new talent!
The yellow ochre pillow was licensed and produced by Creative Co-Op, and the bug illustration was printed in Flow magazine in 2017.

Katie created this board for Creating Collections for Home Décor in 2016 based on trend boards from the course.
Her designs were then picked up by Anthropologie for a dreamy kid’s bedding line, quilt shown below – how cool is that?!
La Marina
Katie created this board for Creating Collections for Home Décor in 2017 based on the La Marina trend board from class.
Her designs were then turned into tins and other home goods by Creative Co-op, shown below.
There you have it – three different years and three different lots of jobs snagged from work created for Make Art That Sells!
Katie says: “I think the most fun part about creating illustrations for the home décor market is that sometimes a piece will be made exactly as you envisioned it, like the snail pillow; and sometimes a company will take your art from a plate and create a whole different product line, like the Anthropologie bedding set. It’s a thrill in both cases to see your art transformed!”
