Lilla here. I’m so incredibly excited about my latest project—Inner Circle small group mentoring. It’s a chance for me to do what I love most: closely mentor a small group of artists and help them reach the next level. So many artists crave individual guidance, and with my decades of experience as an agent and teacher, I know exactly how to help people make their work more true to themselves, more gorgeous, and more lucrative. That’s what lights me up.
This morning, as I sipped my espresso, this happened: a number of imaginary artists came to mind—six examples of the kinds of creatives I envision in my mentoring intensive—along with case studies describing how I would guide each of them to reach their full magical potential.

#1 The illustrator who needs a guide to help them shine
Imagine you’re an artist who loves painting but has no idea if your work is any good, whether you have potential, or how you could possibly make money from it. You sign up for Inner Circle to get my guidance.

Right away, I see that you have a gift for drawing small, precious items. I especially love how you’re painting tiny pastries, and I suggest adding colorful and precious petit fours. We chat about creating pieces based on different themes—various cultures, celebrations, for example—and incorporating your gorgeous hand lettering. I guide you on lettering techniques, like refining lowercase g’s, adding swashes to your capital letters. We discuss painting complete settings that would enhance the narrative of your cookie themes. Where do these cookies exist? Is it in someone’s kitchen or a bakery? Is the bakery full of vintage cuckoo clocks and charming vintage China? We explore. I suggest working on a few roughs of the pastry paintings to review in our next session.

We get specific—sizes of paintings, whether to use canvas board or paper, and what art materials you have. We make a schedule and plan what you’ll show me when we meet one-on-one in a month or two.
When we meet again, I’m blown away by what you’ve created. We start working on pitching your collection for Anthropologie and other home decor lines. (I also see your work selling beautifully as paintings on Etsy and at fairs.)
