Q. What’s an Instagram art challenge?
A. It’s a great way to make art! An Instagram art challenge is a free global event that encourages artists and illustrators to post a piece of art every day following a specific set of prompts – think Inktober or Folktale Week.
Using a specific hashtag – #LillasStylePlay2025 – allows you to see all the art done by other participants and connect with other artists around the world.
#LillasStylePlay2025 is designed to help you find or evolve your artistic style by drawing small things every day.

We’re giving away three FREE courses every week! The challenge runs from TODAY, September 1st, to September 30th.
Q. Did I hear you can win stuff …? (Is this a contest?)
Yes! Every week we’ll be picking three participants at random and giving each of them a FREE self-paced Make Art That Sells course.
The winners will be chosen completely at random, so everyone is in with a chance of winning. (It’s not a contest to find the best artist. We want everyone to enjoy this!)
Q. Why did Make Art That Sells decide to run a 30-day challenge?
Because we thought it would be a fun and inspiring activity for our community!
Plus a lot of artists want to find or develop their artistic style – it’s something that Lilla gets asked about a lot. So we created this challenge to help you do just that.
Lilla says: “A great way to discover, evolve and refine your style is by drawing little things where you can take risks, and that’s just what you’ll do in #LillasStylePlay2025. The daily prompts are small and you can experiment with different media and paper, maybe using digital or traditional media – or use the same media and paper for all 30 days and see what happens!”

Q. Do I have to post every day?
Not at all! If you want to try to post every day then that’s great. One of the reasons that we decided to run this challenge was because Lilla wanted to get everyone doing a lot of drawing, because the more you do the better you get.
It’s fun to draw and post the thing listed on the prompts List. That way, it’s nice to see what everyone is doing and flood social with, say, Nutella jars or Five Different Noses. Feel free to do as many as you like!
The main purpose of taking part in the challenge is to have fun, so if you only post every other day, or for a week, or just once, that’s all fine. Do whatever works for you.
Q. Where do I post my art? Do I send it to Make Art That Sells?
Share on Instagram and any other social media you like, and make sure you use the hashtag #LillasStylePlay2025 so we can see it.
