TATJANA MAI-WYSS

_MANI2016_TATJANA_MAI_WYSS

I have taken MATS A, MATS B and am in my second round of Bootcamp. I participated in the Global talent search for the last two years, and once even made it into the second round.

Lilla’s MATS classes have changed my work and my life on many levels. I’ve always dreamt of being a children’s book illustrator and still love that kind of work, but it’s been so exciting to become aware of all the other possibilities out there, and get a glimpse of different worlds of illustration and design. The class assignments regularly show me my limitations, but also what I need to learn next and how to go about it. My MATS classmates have been an invaluable source of advice and inspiration, and I love finding myself part of a community and making friends  all around the world. See more of Tatjana’s work here

I have taken GTS 2015, MATS Bootcamp 2016 and currently taking the Illustrating Children’s Books classMy take on MATS: The briefs are realistic, you get a direction to work in, the projects  are challenging, aimed to get you out of your comfort zone… but those are just the most obvious things that I like. More than anything, I love having a Facebook feed full of art from my group of Bootcamp friends, and I love spending a week on mini assignments, playing around, and seeing what everyone else is doing – there is so much love and support that it pushes me to do better and more, and not take the easy road. The Mats experience, well, I keep wanting more! I am pushing myself to be better, I am taking every design a step further. Now I am pleased with my end result as in the past I would say, its oke, could be better. Great group in Facebook and I saw some beautiful work there. See more of Sabeth’s work here
