I have taken MATS B, Bootcamp, the Global Talent Search and attended MATS Live in Brighton.
MATS has inspired me to get out there and show off my talent! Lilla and the MATS live team left me brimming with confidence and gave me a can do attitude. See more of Nicola’s work here

Currently enrolled with MATS A, but very excited about the Illustrating Children’s Book Course!

Lilla’s empowering resources and approachable method was more than enough inspiration to prompt my enrolment with the MATS(A) Course this past January. The course has not only provided me with valuable market insight among a like-minded community, but a new interest to explore other channels, beyond the children’s picture book I have developed. Presently, my goal is to apply these learnings, expand my portfolio into art licensing and enter the 2016 Global Talent Search competition for the first time. See more of Amy’s work here

CATARINA OLIVEIRA STUDIO

MANI2016_CATARINA_OLIVEIRA

I’m taking Mats Bootcamp 2016 and participated in GTS 2015.

GTS was a great experience as it made me take action and pushed my boundaries out of my comfort zone, made me a doer and I learned a lot. The same goes with Bootcamp. The way the course is structured is really motivating as it makes me think of different ways to research or to tackle the assignment, it allows a great amount of creative freedom but within a structure with deadlines.
I love reading the assignment’s PDFs because they are very clear, with images, advice and suggestions on how to start or what to do if you get stuck. And of course there’s the Facebook group which has been a great place to find support from other artists.
Regarding my work, the biggest advantage of Bootcamp is accountability. It gives me great briefings that I follow and at the end I’m proud to say that I have a new portfolio piece. It’s still a personal discovery road that I’m walking regarding my style and my hope is that at the end, I look back at my body of work and say: this is me. See more of Catarina’s work here

KATE O’LEARY

I have taken MATS A and B, Bootcamp 2015 and Global Talent search 2015.
The MATS courses are challenging, inspiring and engrossing. I may have had a natural tendency to break things down into tiny projects but having it presented as a set process was very helpful especially now that I’m a mother. I also rediscovered my love of pattern making and solidified my interest in the children’s apparel market. See more of Kat’s work here
