ROSIE MARTINEZ-DEKKER | BELIEVE CREATIVE STUDIO

MANI2016_Rosie_Martinez-Dekker

I have participated in MATS A&B, Bootcamp and GTS ( I was a semi-finalist in 2013) MATS courses, contest and bootcamps  helped me to elevate my design work at the next level, to establish a method, to work hard and to play while working and to create with joy.

Is an inspiring yet challenging experience. I obtained a lot of valuable knowledge and resources to apply to my work including a more professional way to present and to approach potential customers.
It opened my mind for new techniques, markets and ideas. I created a lot of pieces that I didn’t even knew I could do.
I loved to be part of it and I always end up wanting for more. Thanks for helping artist like me to keep believing that there is market out there for my work. See more of Rosie’s work here

 LINDSAY GILLIGAN ILLUSTRATION

manifesto
I have taken Mats A & B, currently in MATS Bootcamp, and I have entered the GTS in 2014 & 2015. The MATS courses have pretty much been a career jump-starter for me. When I found them (via Instagram) I was just beginning the process of turning my art into a way of making money and had no idea what direction to go it, I figured I would open an etsy store and sell prints.  I didn’t even know what art licensing was at the time and selling my art to companies for products seemed like a lofty far off goal.
I am so glad I found MATS because it broke down the process of art licensing into simple straightforward steps, it is soo attainable, I had no idea! In less than a year from taking my first MATS course I have licensed artwork for fabric and have had positive reactions from several companies who have asked me to keep in touch with new work. I can’t wait for my first fabric to be released this fall and I hope to have a collection of quilting cottons in the near future! See more of Lindsay’s work here

I have taken MATS A and B and participated in the last two Global Talent Searches. Doing the MATS courses really put me in tune with what makes me, ME and helped me transmit that into my work. The phrase “people buy your joy” stuck with me the most and keeps me from getting caught up in drawing what I think I SHOULD be drawing and takes me back to doing something true to what I love. ANGELA SBANDELLI

I took Bootcamp and MATS A last year and I’m currently in Bootcamp again! I work as a children’s book illustrator and sometimes this job could be ripetitive and comparing your result to other artist’s makes you feel overwhelmed. I find Mats classes very theraputic against that kind of depression that makes you feel and your art look bad because you are forced to leave your comfort zone and try something different. Sometimes the result are pretty good and sometimes not, but you keep creating and find new different ways to do it

So to me Lilla Roger is a good fairy who helps you find your way through your fear and uncertainty. See more of Angel’s work here
