We are so proud of our wonderful Make Art That Sells alumni and are pleased to showcase a series of gorgeous work that was produced in our January session of Creating Collections for Home Décor

This image is a collection of glassware. It is my favorite because the assignment inspired me to explore an unfamiliar substrate. Hearing the inside scoop on manufacturing and learning about surface techniques for glass opened my eyes to all it’s possibilities I had not considered before.***

This image shows my whole farm inspired collection. I’ve chosen this as my favourite because it’s like a summary of all 5 weeks and it shows how art can be placed on different substrates.
How did the Home Décor class help you grow?
The Home Decor class helped me to grow because it has opened my mind for so many different techniques how art can be placed onto home decor products.
I discovered about myself that experimenting and trying out new things is very important for my growth as an artist. I’ve learned to give up control and just having fun.
How would you describe the course to a friend?
This class is an awesome opportunity to going one step further and it will give you and awesome insight in the home decor market. Lilla and Margo are the most lovable teachers I could imagine and I think you will love your classmates too.

This page is the one I created at the end of the course, with a design and different substrate from each week added. It’s my favourite because I picked all my best pieces and I enjoyed seeing how they came together as a range that I would happily buy for myself!

The Home Decor class helped me redirect my focus and approach to handling an assignment. In a way, Lilla gave me “permission” to play while I work, which has reinvigorated my art. If you want to have fun and enjoy your art career while learning a new craft, I would suggest taking this course!

Want a piece of the $60 Billion Home Decor industry?
What is home décor? It’s all the gorgeous and/or functional items in your house. It’s a booming market that needs tons of art, with over $60 billion in annual sales. Its massive growth is due in part to the popularity of home design TV shows, Pinterest, and Instagram, and stylish online retailers like One Kings Lane and Dot&Bo.
Art directors NEED your great art!
Our next live e-course, Make Art That Sells: Creating Collections for Home Décor starts May 16 and teaches you everything you need to know to create killer presentations with your art. Registration is open and we look forward to seeing your gorgeous designs.

I would love to take this class, but a little out of my range right now. I have enjoyed the minis. Thanks for the motivation and encouragement you give.
