Which market is your work submitted for?

Market: Bolt Fabric

What have you enjoyed most so far about the course?

I loved how mini assignments prepare you for the big one while giving you lots of practical information to help you go through.

I also loved the time management bonus “The Clump System”. I was a bit overwhelmed with all that I wanted to achieve and by using clump system I felt more in control and was able focus on my daily objectives.

How is the MATS class helping you grow?

I get a better understanding of the sector. Also being part of a creative community is very inspiring.

What are you discovering about yourself?

That becoming a surface pattern designer is not just a dream. I am growing each day and gaining confidence.

How would you describe the class to a friend?

Great course packed with lots of insider information, exercise, backed by inspiring and supportive community.

What have you enjoyed most so far about the course?

I’m loving taking a class again, and how much information is included with each of the assignments I’ve done so far. I’m learning a lot by watching Lilla’s past critiques, re-watching portions and taking notes.

How is the MATS class helping you grow?

The assessment points are really helpful… I’ll get “into” what I’m drawing and feel I’m making progress and then really make some headway after rereading the assessment points.

What are you discovering about yourself?

I’ve learned to try to make each “icon” worthy of attention. I have a tendency to rush to finish my work (graphic design), this class has taught me to go back again(and again!) to try and find what makes my work,  work.

How would you describe the class to a friend?

In describing this class to friends I have told them how rich and dense it is with so many layers of information, helpful instruction, and wonderful, fun assignments

What have you enjoyed most so far about the course?
I love the diversity and the encouragement of the course to make art that sells, it opens your mind to other areas of design which I would have never dreamt of. I love, love the inside scoop of the markets and industry insights from the experts. I enjoy the interaction on MATS Facebook community sharing ideas and constructive feed back with other fellow artist and designers of all different levels.

The challenge and the excitement of the different areas of the course, the way you are introduced to the different markets with the mini and then followed by the assignment – love the structure of the course, easy to follow and very informative and the encouragement from Lilla is so supportive – “Thank you”.

How is the MATS class helping you grow?
It has been mind blowing! renewed my mind to being open and looking at creating art with a different perspective, seeing things with fresh eyes after many years as a graphic designer in advertising/print media I can see how you can create art for different areas which can be used in multiple ways for different markets.

What are you discovering about yourself?
To explore, that we are all unique and have different style, not to be hard on ourselves, stay open and enjoy making art.

How would you describe the class to a friend?
Don’t hesitate just do it!! You will love Making Art That Sells, its a online e course that opens your eyes to new markets where you can develop and build up a professional portfolio
in a supportive environment, which can open doors to new opportunities and you can grow as an artist/designer.
