See the jobs Lilla’s artists have gotten from art created for Make Art That Sells!

As well as being a warm and innovative teacher, Make Art That Sells co-founder and teacher Lilla Rogers is also a renowned art agent. This means that she can use her in-depth knowledge of the industry to create class assignments with real world appeal – plus, because she assigns jobs to her artists every day, she also has insider knowledge of what’s hot, what’s not, and what’s selling like gangbusters. Put it all together and it’s just one reason why Make Art That Sells alumni are so successful.

Want proof? We reached out to some of the artists that Lilla represents to ask them to show us some of the art which they created for Make Art That Sells that landed them jobs and representation. Here’s what they told us …

Erica Root

Erica took a ton of Make Art That Sells courses before landing representation with Lilla Rogers Studio, but it was her portrait of Ida B. Wells for Assignment Bootcamp (and her fantastic lists for MATS MBA (Money BadAss – currently half price) that Lilla says first made her sit up and notice Erica! She’s now booked solid with work, including a non-fiction book that she pitched which is due out in 2021.

Kelly Anne Dalton

Kelly Anne is another Make Art That Sells student who is now represented by Lilla Rogers after Lilla spotted her in class. She says, “I’m not sure there was any one piece that did it, just a culmination of taking every single class for two years!”. Kelly is currently busy with book gigs, but also tells us that she has just had a piece of work from Make Art That Sells picked up for licensing – but she can’t share any details quite yet. P.S. We’re excited to invite you to join us TODAY at 12:30 PM ET for the next in our series of WebinARTs with LRS artist Jennifer M Potter, who has worked on a variety of incredible illustration projects for clients such as The American Library Association, The Boston Children’s Museum, Henry Holt Books for Young Readers, Nosy Crow, Running Press, Sasquatch Books, Washington Post, Up With Paper, and more. Lilla will be asking her how she transitioned to a full-time career as a freelance illustrator, how she creates such dramatic cinematic pieces (hint: she studied animation, comics and storyboarding at SCAD), what her very favorite illustration project was and why, how she stays organized. If nothing else, come for the gorgeous work in the slideshow. Plus Lilla will be taking a few questions live!

One lucky participant will win Jennifer Potter’s lushly, fully illustrated book, Voices of Justice.
