We’re hiring! Since launching in 2013 Make Art That Sells has rapidly gained a reputation as the go-to course for anyone serious about making commercially viable art whilst staying true to themselves, and now we’re looking for a positive, enthusiastic and highly organized freelance Project Assistant to join our friendly team.

You’ll be contributing directly to the growth of our audience and sales, including website updates, written and multimedia content, social media, and more, as well as supporting the team with a host of behind-the-scenes tasks. This is a rare opportunity to work directly with Lilla Rogers, one of the top art agents in the world, and gain valuable experience for a digital career in the arts or elsewhere.

What’s involved:

This is a freelance contract for six months from January 2021. The role is part-time (2-3 days per week) and completely flexible, although on occasion you will need to be available at specific times for meetings or live Zoom events, which may take place in the evening.   • Supporting our online community by responding to email, social media posts and inquiries, and posting in class groups
  • Posting on and engaging with our community via social media
  • Website support including copy updates as needed, troubleshooting, testing of new functionality and monthly website reviews
  • Zoom broadcast support
  • Updating of visuals and other promotional tools
  • Zoom broadcast support including setting up calls, liaising with guests and other preparation

What we need from you:

  • Project delivery experience as part of a team is essential
  • Fluency in social media essential and some experience with WordPress would be a bonus
  • Ideally, you would have experience with online marketing, email marketing systems such as Campaign Monitor, and remote working
  • A can-do attitude and high standards for your work
  • A team player who can work independently
  • Fluent English and excellent communication skills, particularly written
  • Well-organized, with excellent attention to detail
  • Based ideally in the UK or the east coast of the USA. This is a remote working position and you should have a good internet connection and an established home office.

What we can offer:

  • A competitive daily rate (based on seven hours per day), invoiced monthly
  • Completely flexible hours, as long as you deliver to the deadlines outlined in your work plan
  • As this is a freelance position there is no holiday offered, but we can be flexible with the arrangement of your days in any given month to allow for 1-2 week holidays, except during our busiest periods (end November and during our April Spring Sale)
  • We will provide you with a company Apple laptop, monitor (if required), and relevant software (these would remain the property of the company)
  • Free access to any Make Art That Sells online course during the period of your contract (to be taken in your own time), and up to three individual course places for friends and family during the period of your contract
  • A friendly and welcoming working environment, with the opportunity to work with some key players in the illustration industry
