Welcome artists! Hello, I’m Lilla, and I’m really glad to make this video for you to explain why you should take my course, Make Art That Sells [now known as Hot Markets for Your Art Part A and Part B].
You are an artist. And what’s better than making a living drawing pictures? It’s the best! It’s just a wonderful lifestyle.
Maybe you already do it, and you want to make your living more lucrative. Or maybe you’re starting out. You want to know what the top markets are and how to get that work.
So I have been in business for 30 years. And what I’m doing is, I’m distilling the most valuable information for you for these various markets to get the work.

And let me show you what I’m talking about. So we talk about the home decor market. Did you know ornaments are very huge in that market? Or how do you get apparel work? Like this baby apparel? How do you get that gig? These are all pieces by my artists.
Maybe the paper market, like this, like journals, huge market, children’s books. Again, these are all projects that we have commissioned with my agency, and we commission work every day, so I know what clients are looking for.
Let me tell you some of the great things that happen in Make Art That Sells. First of all, you get structure. We know it’s very difficult, no matter how motivated you are, to work on your own.
And what’s a better way than to have a really, really supportive Facebook group to make your pieces? And you know what’s interesting, a lot of times the artists will put in the course, will put a piece up in the Facebook group and say do you like the blue one better, or the yellow one better?
Okay, then there’s my review. So at the end of every week, I review a handful of the pieces, which in some ways I think is possibly one of the best features of the course, because you learn a great deal. You’ve done the assignment, and you get a real analysis of the pieces.

So you’ve got the structure, you’ve got the support of Facebook group, but you also learn very specific content, such as design techniques, colour, all about colour, you learn drawing, you learn how to evolve your style even further, what is a style, different kinds of style.
Oh, interviews with VIP art directors that tell you exactly what they’re looking for, what they buy. Do they like to get pieces submitted to them? The answer is yes, they love submissions! How do you submit? Do you send JPEGs, do you, you know, show work on your website? and so on and so forth.
Everything you ever wanted to know is discussed. Then because you are really putting yourself out there in such a vulnerable way as a creative person, I give you psychological and spiritual tips to help you with affirmations to support you further. All the things that I’ve learned or I’ve talked about with my artists that I represent to help them in the process.
You have an opportunity to ask me any question you want, which I love. I love questions and I answer. But let me tell you, too, that this is great preparation for our wonderful Global Talent Search, that has been an astonishing success. And our winners Zoe and Daniel are already so booked with work that they can barely like take their head up from their art table. It’s a really exciting thing, and this will give you that good background.
We look at trends, we look at mid century trends, we look at colour trends, how do you find trends, there’s so much packed in there. And I guarantee you, for five weeks, you’re going to have fun every single day and be charged up, stimulated, and pushed in some new directions.
You will also find that it’s very, very intensive, but it’s fun intensive. And really, isn’t that what you want? Don’t you want your money’s worth in a new course, let’s face it. And this gives you that excitement and all my years of teaching, 30 years of teaching.

You know, there are a lot of courses out there, but I’m gonna brag for a moment. I think all my years of teaching have really helped me know how to structure to get the best out of each artist. And there’s certain techniques you do: you break things into bits, you don’t overwhelm with the big assignment, you give little chunks, and you motivate. This brings the best out in a student and in an artist. There’s a certain way that you teach artists that I have found works very successfully. And all these things I share with you.
So if you’re thinking of taking Make Art That Sells [now known as Hot Markets for Your Art Part A and Part B], take it. It’s so great. It’s so amazing. You will love it. And I hope to see you in there and help you grow. Thank you.
Please note that Hot Markets for Your Art Part A and Part B are now run as self-paced courses, which you can start as soon as you sign up!
