Teju Reval

Make Art That Sells student Teju has done a ton of collaborations with Minted x Pottery Barn Kids, the first of which was this gorgeous Alphabet Dinos illustration. She’s since gone on to do further collaborations with Minted x Disney and licensed greeting cards and wall art to Target, and her wall art licensed to Kate and Laurel has been available at Home Depot, Walmart, HomeSense, Wayfair, and Joss & Main.

Teju told us: “I have always considered Lilla to be my true guide/guru, someone who changed my life! Make Art That Sells gave me the direction when I started off my creative journey and set me on the right path. I am forever grateful to Lilla and MATS for helping me start my career as an artist. The abundant wealth of knowledge and advice I received in those classes has been so valuable and important to me.”

Teju was thrilled to get to meet Lilla in person at Surtex 2018.

Teju was featured on Minted’s blog about her Alphabet Dinos illustration, and quoted art agent Lilla in her replies. She told us: “I had to quote Lilla’s words when asked what is the best advice I have received as an artist! Again, truly grateful, thank you for changing lives!”

Alexandra told us: “Hot Markets for Your Art Part B was a really fun and informative course. I love designing greeting cards and picked up some great tips, especially from the live reviews. As part of the course, I created a winter holiday card, and this year the design was picked up by a greeting card publisher in the USA and released as a box set. I’ve been designing cards for a while now, but I felt like this course really helped me take my work to the next level.”

Daniela Veit

Daniela has found confidence and commercial success since finding Make Art That Sells.

Daniela told us: “I have been an illustrator for 15 years. I always had the feeling that I should learn more, but didn’t know where to start. In 2018 und 2019, I had some really bad years, but luckily around the same time I found Make Art That Sells. What I learned is that it’s possible to make a living from illustration without having an academic degree in illustration, and that the most important thing to be successful is to have fun.”

Daniela added: “Since 2020, my illustration business has run much better. I got a frequent client who is a school book publisher, and other new clients. It’s super! I know I still have work to do. But I think that the reason why I have come so far in the last two and a half years is due to Make Art That Sells and Lilla’s (and all other teachers’ and the student community’s) super positive energy. So thank you a lot!”
