Imagine holding your very own stunning art-driven non-fiction book in your hands, written and illustrated by YOU!

Two stunning arty books agented by Lilla Rogers Studio. Your book could be an art instruction book, a memoir, a guided journal, a book of quotations – anything you can think of!
Lilla’s non-fiction book course, My Arty Book Pitch, starts in less than two weeks, on Monday, October 14th – so if you’ve ever dreamed of writing your very own arty book, then you definitely don’t want to miss this.

Q. What is an arty book anyway?
It’s any book that’s art-driven (whether that’s illustrations, photographs or anything else) and stunning to look at: it may be practical too, but you would also find yourself picking it up and flicking through the pages just because it’s so damn pretty.
It could be a travel guide, a heavily illustrated guided journal, a graphic novel, a craft how-to, a social/emotional and neurodiverse art-driven memoir – the options are endless. Plus, they’re a brilliant way to derive income and expand your creative career.

Calling all crafters! Share your passion and projects in a gorgeous illustrated how-to, like this one created in class by Make Art That Sells student Jesse Petersen.
Q. I’m not really a writer … Can I really write my own book?
It doesn’t have to contain many words at all – perhaps it’s a collection of illustrated quotations, or sketches of flowers and their medicinal uses, or a journal with prompts, or some pages from your sketchbook from your year living out of a campervan – art agent Lilla will give you tons more ideas, suggestions and inspiration in class.
Q. Okay – but what on earth would I write about?!
Download your FREE copy of Lilla’s brilliant insightful interactive quiz and discover what YOUR arty book could be about!
On day 1 of class, you’ll get this insightful interactive quiz to help you tap into your unique arty book idea. If you haven’t already, download it and fill it in now.
If you enjoyed that, there are plenty more quizzes in My Arty Book Pitch, along with inspiring videos to excite and motivate you, and journaling prompts that will help you dig down into your quirky personality and come up with a unique, winning pitch – the course is stuffed with tons of inspiration.

Q. You mentioned something about a FREE assignment?
That’s right!
Here’s your assignment:
Take a photo of something you could make a book about, then share it on social media and be sure to tag @makeartthatsells and use the #MATSprep. Lilla will be picking some of her favorites to share in a newsletter coming up soon, plus she’ll also chat about them in the FREE live Zoom on Friday, October 11th, at 12 noon ET/5 pm BST, so make sure she can find yours!
If you don’t want to share your idea on social media, you can just take a photograph of a collection of things that you’re interested in and share that instead.

Q. But what if I don’t have any ideas?!
You could try filling in the quiz above and watch the video series to help you uncover your unique book idea. Or you could also take a photograph of a collection of things that you’re interested in: it could be the jumping off point for an amazing book!
One of the reasons why arty books are such a great fit for creative people is that they allow you to be 100%, completely, utterly, irrevocably YOU. Whatever your weird little soul hankers after the most: that’s what would make a fantastic book. And it will be utterly unique – just like you.
Plus they are a wonderful way to break into publishing, and a fantastic source of income that can open up a whole new side of your career and new income streams for things like speaking, writing a column, and so on.

My Arty Book Pitch is packed with examples of arty books to inspire and delight you! (This image shows a selection of arty books on general sale.)
