I wanted to have 3-dimensional elves to have as a group on a shelf, and tea towels for the kitchen. Announcing the Winners of the Sugar Plum Fairy Cover Competition

Ta da! Zoe Tucker, children’s book art director, and I are delighted to announce that Isabelle Follath was selected from hundreds of submissions as the winner of our Sugar Plum Fairy Book Competition. Congratulations, Isabelle! The assignment was to create a book cover for the imaginary title The Sugar Plum Fairy’s Adventure “Isabelle hits many key notes that art directors look for when commissioning a children’s book illustrator: A beautiful style that is consistent throughout the piece Lovely color palette. It’s fairly monochromatic (shades of pinks and violets) with pops of blue, white and yellow An interesting story told on the cover. See all the festive showcase posts here as they unfold. *** CARRIE CHAPKO I created this pattern for a local Wisconsin shop to be used on holiday gift wrap. It features watercolor icons in a Wisconsin Christmas theme. I have since had a request to create a version for Montana too! More info and to purchase here MATS classes have helped me tremendously in finding my style and feeling more confident in it! Deciding to take these classes was the best thing I ever did for my art career, I am so grateful for them.
