It’s Reine Sloan from Lilla Rogers Studio here! I have just returned from the huge AtlantaMart 2016 trade show in Georgia, where I explored three skyscrapers (a total of 57 floors) of the freshest products and trends in Home Decor and Gifts. The sheer enormity of the show brings home just how huge an opportunity this is for artists, so I wanted to share 10 hot trends in home décor spotted at the show.
THE TOP TEN
(1) Vintage style clocks were popping up everywhere in all different shapes, colors and sizes. These were in the CBK showroom!
(2) Lots of warm wood and nature elements complimented by a bit of fringe or girls accents
(3) Plenty of golds and wallpapers with large motifs and bold design
(4) Hand lettering with painterly words and expressions, particularly in wall art
(5) Funky lamps with exposed bulbs and wires in all shapes and sizes
(6) Antlers everywhere! From wallpaper to candlesticks, from sconces to pillows, decorative and simple, antlers are hot!
(7) Designers inspired by and creating vignettes and designs around the 2016 Pantone color palettes. Keep an eye out for these named Pantone shades: rose quartz & serenity, ephemera, dichotomy, mixed bag, bijoux, lineage, soft focus and natural forms
(8) Bold colourful flowers contrasted with chevron stripes. This display includes two towels by our very own MATS graduate and Lilla Rogers Studio artist Zoe Ingram. Zoe’s work was also seen on these bird vases for CBK.
(9) Sunflowers, as in this collection for TAG which includes everything from doormats to dishtowels, candles and aprons. This shows the endless possibilities for a collection.
(10) Muted color palette set off by a bold graphic element, in this case a bright abstract painting. And more of those antlers…
