After entering Global Talent Search in 2013 and making it into the top 50, she decided to go back to “school” and signed up for Lilla Rogers’ MATS Part A, Part B, and Bootcamp to build her portfolio and strengthen her illustration skills.
With energized confidence, she entered the Global Talent Search a year later, made it through three rounds of competitions and among thousands of entries, Tara became the 2014 winner!
Tara has worked with Hallmark, Robert Kaufman, American Greetings, Galison, Midwest CBK, Peaceable Kingdom, Quarto Publishing, Crown Crafts Infant Products and other firms in the past year.
Here’s a glimpse of a few projects Tara has been working on with Lilla Rogers Studio, while being a new mother to little June Ellawyn Lilly!

October 2014
Won the Global Talent Search! I still can’t believe that I am the winner. Sent out my portfolio images and signed my LRS contract.
Cleaned and organized my studio. It looked like a tornado hit it after GTS!
Began to work with Midwest CBK on my garden decor collection.
Galison Puzzle Commission.
Sent out files for Robert Kaufman Fabric Collection.
Designed Mugs, Tea Towels, Birdhouses, and wall art for CBK garden collection.
January 2015
Showed at Printsource for the first time.
Sold patterns to American Greetings for stationery Products, Trend Lab for nursery decor, Crown Crafts Infant Product for nursery decor.
Created Illustrations for a book presentation.
February 2015
Designed a Birthday Card for Design House Greetings.
Turned 33!
Designed a newsletter header for Lilla Rogers Studio
