Imagine getting paid to make art all day, while your art agency promotes you, mentors you, negotiates fees and contracts, invoices the clients, and more?
The 2018 Global Talent Search is officially open for registration! The GTS is a competition where we find our next artist to represent.
We’ve already lined up lots of top names in the industry for our judging panel; we have judges from Blue Q, Abrams Books, Design House Greetings, Uppercase Magazine, Mattel, and many more!
This year, in addition to winning representation and coveted Skype consultations with prime movers and shakers in the business we are delighted to also offer an all-expenses paid, (including airfare from anywhere in the world!), to my Annual Artists and VIP Retreat in my home/studio in Boston.
Above: Three VIPs who attended last year’s retreat. From left: Mitch Nash, co-founder and Creative Director of BlueQ, Janine Vangool, Publisher of UPPERCASE Magazine, and Steven Wardlaw, Art Director of BlueQ.
Above: Here’s my artist Flora Waycott, winner of the 2014 GTS Special Studio Award (who came all the way from Australia!), at our Retreat last year, showing her portfolio at the Speed Art Dating by the Lake. See the woman in the background? She’s a book art director and loved looking at the portfolios. It’s a relaxed way for our artists to meet art directors and editors face to face.

Here’s Jeanne Rittmueler from Hallmark sharing what she is looking for these days, latest trends, and how she works with artists.
At this year’s Retreat, I’m going to be sitting in one of these chairs in my garden and the other is going to have the 2018 Global Talent Search winner actually seated there! Will it be YOU?
Yes, you heard that right. And I have no idea who it could be, so it’s as exciting for me as it is for those of you that are thinking of entering.
I hope you do enter because I’ve dreamt up some assignments that I think you’ll enjoy, plus they’ll make fantastic portfolio pieces. And you might just be our next represented artist!
