You learn better and grow more when you’re having a good time. As a creative, you respond to that nutty bit of your brain being stimulated. One of the reasons why our courses are so successful, and why our students do them over and over again, is because of art agent Lilla’s unique and innovative teaching style. Sometimes it can be overwhelming, or scary, to think about your career goals, can’t it? So why not write them down on a nutty armadillo? Or in lipstick on your bathroom mirror, or in chalk on the sidewalk outside of your house, or in ballpoint pen on a banana? (The dream armadillo is probably easiest, though.) When you make things playful, they’re automatically less imposing or overwhelming.
Plus, Lilla also has an amazing knack of breaking things down into smaller pieces, so they’re easier and more achievable. So for example, her courses often include a Mini Assignment and a Big Assignment for each portfolio piece you produce. In the Mini Assignment, you get to create and play without having to worry about the end result. And then when you find out what the Big Assignment is, you’ve already done some of the work!

- January 20th: Editorial LIVE: Illustrating for Magazines and More: (four weeks): Before she was an innovative art agent, Lilla Rogers spent a decade working as a successful illustrator in NYC. In this previously sold-out course, she shares everything she wishes someone had taught her and tons of insights about the editorial industry, while guiding you step by step to create a fabulous conceptual editorial portfolio piece from rough to finish. We had to run this course twice in 2019 due to the huge demand and the results were astounding! The course for 2020 will include a brand NEW manuscript to work from, and we’re calling this one The Artivist Edit. Even if you took Editorial in 2019, it’s worth taking again: in order to get magazine and book work, you need to show a variety of strong pieces in your portfolio (art directors don’t like surprises! – you have to show them that you can deliver), and even better if you can show a range of tone and subject matter. - March 2nd: Assignment Bootcamp 2020 (four months): Assignment Bootcamp is one of the most popular courses we run, and every year we get messages from students begging us to run it all year round!
