Portfolio Review Testimonial Laura Friedland

In Portfolio Review, you’ll learn exactly how an art agent with 30 years’ experience views a portfolio, and more. You’ll get access to a huge vault of videos where Lilla actually reviews the websites and portfolios of illustrators and students taking the class, and it’s absolutely packed with actionable tips that you can use to improve your website and attract paying gigs.

Tips like: what you should include on your “About” page? Lilla says: ‘Your home page is your front door, it’s where an art agent or director meets you. Your “About” page is your living room.’

What should you include? Some things Lilla likes to see are:

  • Where you live. Lilla says: “It’s interesting! I just like to know.”
  • Clients, if you have any. It’s fine if you only have one or two. Lilla adds: “If you were a designer for ten years then let me know. That impresses me!”
  • Optional: Lilla says: “A photo of you is fabulous!” – or you can include a photo of your desk, a pet, or a favorite quote.
  • Lilla says: “I like your About page to be in first person, but it doesn’t have to be. I look for warmth in your text. What you don’t need is some brilliant articulate wording explaining your work.”
