Sarah got in touch again to let us know that not only has Busy Beaks been shortlisted for the Children’s Book Council of Australia Picture Book of the Year 2021, but her second author-illustrated book, Jumping Joeys, has just been published!

Anna Kalecinski

Anna has taken Assignment Bootcamp: Portfolio, and got in touch to let us know that she’d taken the leap to working as a professional freelance illustrator.

Anna told us: “I just wanted to chime in and say THANK YOU for the work you do. I took Assignment Bootcamp: Portfolio last year and it made me realize that creating a career in illustration is not as far-fetched as I had believed. The prompts and monthly assignments pushed my boundaries, and I learned a lot about the industry. A keen skier, Kim’s first author-illustrated book, Ski A to Z, has just been published by Europe’s leading sports publisher, Meyer & Meyer, and is now available to pre-order. Ski A to Z provides information, tips and insights to help novice skiers of all ages grasp the sport. Kim’s illustrations are intended to resonate with avid skiers as well as new, demonstrating the exhilaration and joy of skiing.

Kim told us: “After completing Illustrating Children’s Books and My Kid Book Pitch in 2020, I followed the steps and pitched my illustrated introduction to skiing book concept for publishing. Many thanks to Lilla, Zoe and all the team, it’s wonderful to have this book dream coming true.
